Among other things, the following data is collected: Name of the website, file, date, amount of data, web browser and web browser version, operating system, the domain name of your Internet provider, the so-called referrer URL (the page from which you accessed our offer) and the IP address.

Without this data, it would not be technically possible to deliver and display the contents of the website. In this respect, the collection of the data is mandatory. In addition, we use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. They help us to optimize the offer and the technology. We also reserve the right to subsequently check the log files if we suspect illegal use of our offer.

Integration of third-party services and content

Our offer sometimes includes content, services and performances of other providers. These include, for example, maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, and graphics and images from other websites. In order for this data to be called up and displayed in the user's browser, the transmission of the IP address is mandatory. The providers (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") therefore perceive the IP address of the respective user.

Even though we strive to use only third-party providers that only need the IP address to deliver content, we have no influence on whether the IP address may be stored. In this case, this process serves statistical purposes, among other things. If we have knowledge that the IP address is stored, we inform our users of this.

This website uses so-called cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer from the server. They contain information about the browser, IP address, operating system and Internet connection. We do not pass this data on to third parties or link it to personal data without your consent.

Cookies fulfill two tasks in particular. They help us to facilitate your navigation through our offer and enable the correct display of the website. They are not used to introduce viruses or launch programs.

Users have the option of accessing our offer without cookies. To do this, the corresponding settings must be changed in the browser. Please use the help function of your browser to find out how to disable cookies. However, we would like to point out that this may impair some functions of this website and limit user comfort. The pages (USA) and (Europe) sites allow you to manage online ad cookies.

Data saving

In accordance with the principles of data avoidance and data economy, we only store personal data for as long as is necessary or required by law (statutory storage period). If the purpose of the information collected no longer applies or the storage period ends, we block or delete the data.

Video surveillance

Video surveillance at the entrances and entrances to the research institute is used to prevent vandalism and theft. The continuous recordings are evaluated for the purpose of identifying perpetrators and damage in the event of theft and vandalism. Occasion-related recordings are stored and evaluated in the event of unauthorized entry for the purpose of perpetrator and damage investigation. The recordings are used to safeguard the right to enter the premises or to protect legitimate interests for specifically defined purposes: protection of property. There is no evidence that would outweigh the legitimate interest of the person concerned (unauthorized, unfair person). The employees are informed and educated about the video recording. Third parties are informed of the video recording by means of information signs when entering the objects. The responsible office is named. The data is only checked in the event of incidents or missing items. Data is deleted promptly by overwriting. The video recording system is also completely separated from other data processing systems.

Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection

You have the right to request information, free of charge, about the personal data stored by us and/or to request correction, blocking or deletion. Exceptions: It is the mandatory data storage for business processing or the data is subject to the legal obligation to retain. In order to be able to consider a data block at any time, it is necessary to keep the data in a blocking file for control purposes. If there is no legal archiving obligation, you can also request the deletion of the data. Otherwise, we will block the data if you so wish.

Change of our privacy policy

In order to ensure that our privacy policy always complies with the current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in the event that the data protection declaration has to be adapted due to new or revised services, for example new services.
